Presentation (second day): Elite Strength Training for Goalkeepers: Power, Agility & Resilience

n a sport with ever-increasing competitive demands, the modern goalkeeper is required to combine explosiveness, strength, reaction speed, stability, and resilience to high loads. Although the rules of football are the same for all players, the physiological and biomechanical demands of the goalkeeper position are highly specialized — and the training approach must be equally specific.

Strength training is not merely a supplementary component of preparation, but the primary mechanism for optimizing performance and, at the same time, a powerful tool for injury prevention. Scientifically grounded program design, appropriate exercise selection, load management in relation to the weekly microcycle, and effective communication with the athlete ultimately determine performance on the field.

This workshop offers a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to designing strength training programs for high-level goalkeepers. Participants will be introduced to practical programming models, in-season load management strategies, criteria for assessment and exercise selection, as well as realistic case studies from the professional level.

The aim is not simply to transfer knowledge, but to provide applicable tools that can be immediately integrated into daily coaching practice — helping goalkeepers become stronger, more resilient, and more effective when the game is on the line.
