Daniel Parnell
His research interests lie in business management, policy, and social and economic networks in sports. His passion within business and sport is to help people challenge and develop themselves, enabling personal growth and organizational improvement. Within the management school, he sits in the Centre for Sport Business teaching about the Football Industries MBA and MSc in Sport Business. He is part of the marketing group. Alongside this, he is CEO of the Association of Sporting Directors which supports my impact, public engagement, and knowledge exchange.

The session will unpack the evolution of the Sporting Director role, engaging with contemporary research and applied insights to understand the current challenges and opportunities. The presentation will draw upon the speaker's applied research on the Sporting Director role (2015-present) and his immersing ethnographic applied research and practice within the football industry (2006-present). The presentation will outline key recommendations for the football industry to better capitalize on the opportunity this role provides.
