Sotiris Silaidopoulos

Βοηθός προπονητή ΠΑΕ Ολυμπιακός

Sotiris Silaidopoulos is a UEFA PRO license holder and the first Greek coach to win a European title, leading Olympiacos U19 to victory in the UEFA YOUTH LEAGUE (the equivalent of the Champions League for youth teams). What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the Olympiacos U19 squad was composed entirely of Greek players, who went undefeated, overcoming teams such as Lecce, Inter, Lens, Bayern, Nantes, and triumphing in the final against Milan with a 3-0 win.

As head coach of Olympiacos U19, he has also won two consecutive Greek Super League U19 championships in the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 seasons.

Simultaneously, he served as an assistant coach to Mr. Mendilibar in Olympiacos’ first team, contributing to another historic achievement: winning the UEFA Conference League—a first for Greek senior club football. These dual accomplishments in one season are rare and difficult to replicate.

This season (2025–2026), he played an important role in Olympiacos’ Greek Super League title win, again as assistant coach to Mr. Mendilibar, particularly focusing on integrating academy players into the first team.

Beyond his success at Olympiacos, he worked for Panathinaikos FC from 2015 to 2021, starting with the U17 squad and eventually becoming interim head coach of the senior team, significantly contributing to the development and promotion of young talents from the academy.
